Wakulla County Is Now Accepting Applications for Solid Waste and Fire Services Hardship Assistance Program
The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners announces Fiscal Year 2012/13 Hardship Assistance Program related to Solid Waste and Fire Protection Assessments. The Hardship Assistance Program was created to assist residential property owners who meet the eligibility criteria, with the financial burden imposed by the Solid Waste and Fire Services Assessment.
In September 2011, the Board implemented a Solid Waste Assessment in the amount of $196 and approved the Fire Protection Assessment in the amount of $75.00 for residential, $.06 per square foot for non-residential, and $.17 per acre for agricultural/vacant property.
The Board recently amended the income criteria which is determined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The following income must be demonstrated:
