Wakulla’s Home Rule Charter was voted on by the citizens of the County in 2008.  The Charter spells out the powers, duties, and structures of government. In addition, no later than July 1, 2015 and every eighth year thereafter, the BOCC must establish a Charter Review Commission to review the County Charter and make recommendations to the BOCC for amendment, revision or repeal, or no amendment, revision or repeal.

In 2014, the BOCC established a fifteen member Charter Review Commission (CRC).  The 2014 CRC recommended four revisions to the Charter...click here to review the 2014 CRC Recommendations.

Most recently, on October 3, 2022, the BOCC established a fifteen member Charter Review Commission to again review the County Charter and provide them with recommendations for amendment, revision or repeal, or no amendment, revision or repeal.
