Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician (Full-Time)

The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for a Full-Time Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) within the County’s Fire Rescue Services Division. This position will report directly to a Captain to provide patient care work in rendering basic pre-hospital life support functions, other emergency care, and rescue services. Duties include the operation and maintenance of ambulances and fire rescue apparatus, basic life support functions, and fire suppression and rescue activities. Applicants must meet the following qualifications: High School diploma or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and certification of training in pre-hospital medical care and fire suppression.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License. Must possess a valid Commercial Florida Driver’s License. Must maintain both Florida Emergency Medical Technician certification and AHA or ASHI/Basic Life Support Certification. Must possess certification of completion of a Florida approved E.V.O.C. driving course. Must have current Florida certification as a Firefighter II. Must maintain any other certifications required by Wakulla Fire Rescue. Must be approved by the EMS Medical Director to practice as an EMT.
