Notice of Apalachee Regional Planning Council Public Meeting - Countywide Shelter Plan

Notice of Public Meeting
The Apalachee Regional Planning Council, on behalf of the Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners and the Wakulla County Division of Emergency Management, is holding two (2) Public Meetings on the following dates:
 
  • Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. at the Wakulla County Community Center in the Crawfordville Room, 318 Shadeville Rd, Crawfordville, FL, (850) 926-3695.
 
  • Monday, May 23, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. in the Panacea Community Center, 115 Otter Lake Road, Panacea, FL, (850) 926-7227.
 
Purpose of Meetings
To receive feedback and participation from county residents for the development of a countywide Shelter Plan that would a) identify additional sheltering facilities to close the gap in the number of shelter spaces available and b) determine the needs of existing shelters to decrease the probability of loss of life and property and provide guidance and/or services to individuals who require special accommodation during a natural disaster or other emergency events.
 
If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the board, agency, or commission with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
