Daytona Beach, FL – Wakulla County Property Appraiser Ed Brimner was elected to the Board of Directors of the Florida Association of Property Appraisers at their Annual Conference, Sept 27-30, in Daytona Beach.

“It’s an honor to represent Wakulla County as a member of FAPA. I intend to join with other Property Appraisers to promote our counties’ legislative needs as well as ensure Florida’s small counties are heard. One of my goals is to have the Legislature increase the Widow/Widower exemption from $500 to $5,000 per year,” said Wakulla County property Appraiser Ed Brimner.

The newly elected 2021-2022 FAPA officers include Hon. Akin Akinyemi, Leon County, as President; Hon. Cregg Dalton, Citrus County, as President-elect; Hon. Marty Kiar, Broward County, as Secretary; and Hon. Ayesha Solomon, Alachua County, as Sergeant at Arms. Continuing his term is Hon. Carey Baker, Lake County, as Treasurer.

The newly elected Board of Directors includes Hon. Ed Brimner, Wakulla County, for District 1; Hon. Jimmy H. Cowan, Marion County, for District 2; Hon. Wesley Davis, Indian River County, for District 3; Hon. Matt Caldwell, Lee County, Member-at-Large; and Hon. Reginald Cunningham, Gadsen County, Member-at-Large.

“2021 was a year of successes for FAPA’s legislative priorities and along with a booming real estate market and many new residents making Florida their home, it is important that the state’s Property Appraisers work together – FAPA continues a long tradition of collaboration among our members,” said immediate past-President Hon. Dorothy Jacks, Palm Beach County, who led the organization through this period of tremendous growth.

“FAPA is the premier organization for collaboration among property appraisers across the state. We promote fairness and professionalism in the industry. As members, we work together to affect legislation that improves how we deliver services to our constituents. I am honored to serve alongside these dedicated public servants, and I look forward to a productive 2022 legislative session,” said newly elected President Hon. Akin Akinyemi.
