Membership of the Historic Preservation Committee (HPC) is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and adopted by Resolution. The HPC is charged with reviewing and making recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on matters relating to the designation, regulation and administration of historical, cultural and architectural resources within Wakulla County. Members of the HPC offer expertise in areas of architecture, history, architectural history, planning, prehistoric and historic archaeology, folklore, cultural anthropology, curation, conservation and landscape architecture. Wakulla County received the designation of a Florida Certified Local Government (CLG) on February 22, 2016. As a participant in the CLG program, the County will pursue the protection and preservation of resources of historical, architectural and archaeological value through it's HPC.
