Are You Interested in Serving as a Member on the Northwest Florida Transportation Corridor Authority?

The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners is seeking one (1) member to volunteer to serve on the Northwest Florida Transportation Corridor Authority (NWFTCA).  The purpose of this Committee is to improve mobility, to enhance traveler safety, to provide for hurricane evacuation routes, and to promote economic development in the northwest Florida region. The NWFTCA committee will also help with the implementation of transportation projects to alleviate current or anticipated traffic congestion, build private and public partnerships, and identify various projects that will accomplish these purposes. The Authority consists of eight voting members appointed by the Governor to a 4-year term including one member each from Escambia, Santa Rosa, Walton, Okaloosa, Bay, Gulf, Franklin, and Wakulla Counties. The Florida Department of Transportation District 3 Secretary serves as an ex-officio, nonvoting member.

The BOCC is seeking one (1) member who must be a citizen of Wakulla County and shall include the following: 

  • Experience and/or knowledge of      the US Hwy 98 Corridor, transportation projects, and economic development      along the coast.
