WAKULLA COUNTY FIRE RESCUE
There are 10 Volunteer Fire Departments (VFD) located throughout the County that provide volunteer firefighters for the entire County. The VFDs are as follows:

Station #11 Riversink 491 Crawfordville Hwy., Crawfordville, FL 32327
Firefighters are also trained as First responders and sometimes EMTs.
As part of our Fire Prevention Program, Fire/Rescue is committed to ensuring that our children learn about fire safety from a young age. Fire/Rescue reaches out to the local schools and childcare facilities to teach students fire safety. Fire/Rescue also interacts with the Senior Citizens Center to provide smoke detector checks to citizens.
There is one source of funding for Fire/Rescue, the Municipal Services Taxing Unit (MSBU). At this time the current MSBU 13/14 budget year the rate is $75.00 for residential structures.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The career members and the Volunteer Fire Departments work as one team to provide fire protection to Wakulla County citizens. All of the County’s Volunteer Fire Departments have signed agreements with the County and are under the operational supervision of the County Fire Chief.
