Code Enforcement

The goal of Code Enforcement is to gain voluntary compliance with local regulations contained within the Wakulla County Code. This is achieved by establishing relationships with citizens to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the community as a whole.

Code Enforcement is responsible for investigating complaints received regarding violations of the Wakulla County Code. No anonymous complaints are accepted and anyone wishing to file a code complaint is required to provide their name, address and/or phone number. Please note, all information provided may be subject to public records laws and released upon request.

The Wakulla County Code Enforcement Board is a seven member board (plus two alternate members) made up of citizen volunteers appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, to assist with the enforcement of the Code when voluntary compliance is not accomplished.

Properties which fail to comply may be subject to an administrative fee and liens imposing daily fines, and in extreme cases, foreclosure.

The next Code Enforcement  Public Hearing will be held on January 13, 2015
