The census has been constitutionally mandated every decade since 1790 to determine the number of people living within the United States and its territories.
The 2010 Census will help communities receive more than $400 billion in federal funds each year and for each person counted, additional funds may be available for Wakulla County. Some of the funds can be used for things like:
* Be on the look-out for your questionnaire in February/March.
One of the primary goals of the 2010 Census is to increase the national mailback response rate of census questionnaires. The Census Bureau is asking communities and business organizations to help achieve this goal by bringing local knowledge and expertise to the process.

FYI . . . The Wetlands Advisory Committee will hold a Public Meeting on February 8, 2010 at 6:00p.m. at the Commissioner Chambers, 29 Arran Rd., Crawfordville, FL.
