Value Adjustment Board . . .
Do you own homesteaded property in Wakulla County and are interested in serving on the Value Adjustment Board?
The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners is currently seeking a Citizen Appointment to the Value Adjustment Board (VAB). This Board allows for any taxpayers within Wakulla County who object to the assessment placed on any taxable property by the Property Appraiser, to file a petition with the clerk of the governing body for a hearing. Per 194.015, F.S. each County is required to create a Value Adjustment Board. The VAB citizen appointment by the Board of County Commissioners must own homesteaded property in Wakulla County. This solicitation is seeking appointment of a VAB member, as well as, a VAB alternate member to serve if needed. Typically, there are no more than 3 or 4 VAB meetings held in the Months of September and October. It should be noted that appointments to the VAB may be required to complete an online training. If you are interested in serving on the VAB, please submit your request and contact information to Jessica Welch at jwelch@mywakulla.com or phone 926-0919 by August 12th 3:00 p.m. The appointment is anticipated to be made by the Board of County Commissioners on August 16, 2010 at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting. |
